Restore the Roar

For many years, Tiger Stadium has been the central location for students, athletes, exercise enthusiasts and community members to achieve, perform, compete and participate. Such a well loved hub results in wear and tear and a need for upgrading to maintain a safe and inviting complex for the Hollidaysburg community.

The vision of a revitalized Tiger Stadium began in 2015 and the “Restore the Roar” campaign was set in motion. The project has multiple phases across several years. Phase One, the replacement of the turf, was completed in August of 2016. The original field was grass and this restricted sports that could be played on it to just football. The previous turf was 2 years past the 10 year recommended age limit and was increasingly unsafe. The new field is a safe environment for a range of sports and activities.

Phase Two is well underway with many upgrades already completed. The biggest and most aesthetic project was the replacement of the barbed wire fence. Now, instead, Tiger Stadium is enclosed in welcoming black metal fencing between sturdy brick pillars. Additionally, a new ticket booth was built, the outer walkway was repaved and the buildings given a fresh coat of paint.

Up next, funds will be raised for a new scoreboard and the district will be replacing and moving the light poles to allow for more efficient bulbs and better field views.

The Restore the Roar campaign has been funded by many generous community businesses becoming sponors as well as donations from individuals and families. Thank you all for your support!
