Culture & Climate Before Stepping in the Door

A school is a symbol of the community and a place that brings many people together throughout the year. From concerts, Meet the Teacher Night, parent-teacher conferences to holiday parties, ceremonies, orientations and more, so much takes place at Frankstown Elementary. Pricipal Bill Madden applied for this grant to create a warm, welcoming, caring climate and culture for students families and staff.
“The entrance has transformed the feel of the school. It is now much more welcoming and creates a sense of community, as students and staff are featured on the front doors to the school. Students, parents, and staff will stop before entering and spend time looking at the pictures on the doors. Additionally, upon entering they will hear upbeat music played throughout the day, which again, creates a more welcoming environment. It is great to see students and some teachers dancing in the lobby area throughout the day.”
